DTG Printing

DTG PRINTING - TREND IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY

1. What is DTG printing?

DTG (Direct to Garment) printing technology is a technology that applies direct inkjet printing technique; the ink will be printed and absorbed directly onto the fabric. This is the most popular modern T-shirt printing technology used today. The DTG printing technique is especially beneficial for designs that require high levels of detail or many colors, as it can create precise designs and complexity. Moreover, it allows for on-demand printing, meaning that each garment can be printed individually and becomes a cost-effective option for small quantity orders.

2. Outstanding features of DTG printing

High Accuracy

DTG printing allows for printing high-resolution images, perfectly reproducing the smallest details. This is extremely suitable for complex designs and requires realistic colors.

Fulfilling Small Orders

Unlike screen printing, DTG printing is suitable for small quantity orders, from a single personalized product to small collections.

Easy Personalization

With DTG printing, you can freely create and customize the design as you like, from logos and images to personal messages.

Save Time

The direct printing process and no need to create a mold help shorten production time, suitable for the need for fast delivery.

Environmentally Friendly

DTG ink is usually water-based, safe for users' health, and causes little environmental pollution.

3. How does the DTG printing process work?

Step 1: Prepare the image to print

In this step, the printer will use graphics software to edit the size, color, and resolution of the image to be printed. To print sharp and realistic images without being broken or blurred, you should choose images with high resolution. In addition, to be suitable for DTG printers, images need to be designed in RGB color space.

Step 2: Prepare the printing fabric

The fabric needs to be washed or checked carefully to ensure that there is no dirt that affects the print quality. Spray the pre-treatment solution on the fabric surface (especially important for dark-colored shirts) to help the ink adhere better and the color is more standard.

Step 3: Proceed to heat press the shirt

After spraying the solution, use a heat press to dry the fabric surface. This helps the fabric surface to be flat and the solution layer fixed.

Step 4: Proceed to print

Place your pre-treated garment on the printer. Flatten the garment, making sure there are no wrinkles. The printer will spray ink directly onto the fabric according to the digital design. Depending on the design and printer, printing time can last from 2-5 minutes for a product.

Step 5: Post-printing processing of the shirt

After finishing the printing process, you take the T-shirt out of the tray and let the ink dry completely. If you want to dry the ink quickly, you can use a heat press or dryer to assist. Proper processing ensures that the print is durable and resistant to abrasion when washed.

4. Trend in the fashion industry

DTG printing technology has changed the clothing decoration industry with many advantages and flexible features. From the ability to reproduce rich colors and detailed designs to the rapid production of small orders, this technology provides businesses with a solution that is both time- and cost-effective. With DTG printing, businesses not only stay ahead of market trends but also optimize the production process and create high-quality products on many different types of fabrics.
